This shot has a unique story in the fact that art desn't usually come from a structure Fire at 3 am in the morning. Being a lover of abstracts, after I had captured the News photo for the paper, I started imagining what it would look like from the other side.

Hence the hike around the hill, half asleep which I attribute this image to, since it was a dream like vision. I knew the smoke would look cool being backlighted by the fire engine lights but I had no Idea of the sureness till I got there, My two favorite colors are blue and silver so imagine the mental JOY I felt when I saw this. The action of the photo suggest that the firefighter is walking out of the smoke not able to save the house but knowing he gave his all, just got there too late.

This image is the perfect example of why I continued to shoot for the newspaper for 20 years, It constantly put me in places that I would not have known existed and left it up to me to capture my vision.
