Some photographs aren't about what you see.
They're about what lies beyond.
Standing inside this old Wyoming barn, I was immediately drawn to the doorway. The rough wooden walls, worn floorboards, and years of history surrounded me in shadow, while outside, sunlight illuminated a completely different world.
The contrast was powerful.
Inside the barn lived stories of hard work, long winters, livestock, hay, and generations of ranch life. Every board seemed to carry a memory. Yet beyond the doorway was open space, fresh air, mountains, and possibility.
It reminded me how often life presents us with similar doorways. We stand surrounded by what we know while something unknown waits just beyond our comfort zone. Sometimes all we have to do is take a few steps forward.
What I love most about this image is that it invites viewers to create their own story. Some will see history. Others will see hope. Some may see a destination. Others may simply appreciate the beauty of light finding its way into a dark place.
For me, it is a reminder that there is always something waiting beyond the doorway.
